What is GU you ask?

We can all do with a little help every now and then and that is exactly what Gu is, your helping hand in a sachet! GU is two types of sport supplements that can help you get the best out of your training: during and recovery.

GU Energy Gel

During a workout or race you need to quickly absorb carbohydrate-based calories to replace the glucose you are burning or you will begin to lose concentration and energy. GU Energy Gel contains 80% maltodextrin, the best complex carbohydrate for delivering energy to working muscles and maintaining that for up to 45 minutes. It also has 20% fructose that helps deliver the quick rise in blood sugar.

By simply adding GU to your normal workout routine– one packet 15 minutes before starting then one packet every 45 minutes or so—you will feel strong and energized, be able to maintain effort throughout, feel better when you finish and recover quickly for your next workout!

How to use your GU Energy Gel

Take one packet of GU 15 minutes before exercise.

Consume one packet of GU every 45 minutes during exercise to maintain energy. Wash it down with water or GU20 to speed absorption

Speed recovery and reduce post-exercise fatigue by consuming one packet of GU within 30 minutes of finishing your exercise

GU Sports Drink GU20

Proper fluid intake during exercise is critical. Your body needs electrolytes in the correct ratio to replace the sodium and potassium you are losing through sweat as well as the correct carbohydrates to maintain your blood glucose and muscle glycogen.

The GU20 formula draws on 40 years of scientific research as well as over 5 years of product development and serious field-testing by athletes. GU20 contains maltodextrin (complex carb), fructose (fruit sweetener), sodium and potassium nitrate (essential electrolytes), citric acid (to balance tartness), and all natural colours and flavours!

How to use your GU20

We recommend to start drinking GU20 before starting your workout to maximize your hydration levels. approximately 500mls of premixed GU20 about an hour before exercise

During exercise, consume around 750mls of GU20 per hour.

After finishing your workout drink another 750mls of GU20 to help restore your hydration levels and assist recovery.

Use a little warm water to mix GU20 then add cold water.

GU can be purchased from the clinic:

GU Energy Gels $3.80 in Strawberry Banana, Lemon Sublime, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Outrage and Espresso Love.

GU20 Sports Drink Sachets $3.00 in Tango Mango and Lemon Lime

Sports Drink Tubs also available to order.
